Georgios Anestis

George Anestis is an Electronic and Computer Engineer and belongs to the permanent personnel of the Distributed Multimedia Information Systems and Applications Laboratory of the School of Electronic & Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete (2004-2015). Previously, George was an associate partner of the Computer Technology Institute (CTI), eGovernment Division (eGov Division – DeG, former eGov Sector) (2003).

George obtained his M.Eng degree in Computer Engineering from the School of Electronic & Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete in 2001 and MSc degree in Operations Research from the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete. He graduated from the School of Electronic & Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete in 1997.

George has participated in several European R&D projects such as: «EACEA Creative Europe: Caravan Next: Feed the Future, Art Moving Cities», (Sep 2015 - Feb 2019), «IP-507953: Digital Business Ecosystems», (Nov 2003 - Dec 2006), «IST-1999-20751: Ubiquitous Personalized Interactive Multimedia TV Systems & Services» (Dec 2000 – Oct 2001), «ESPRIT LTR CAMPIELLO: Interacting in collaborative environments to promote and sustain the meeting between inhabitants and tourists» (Sep 1997 – Aug 2000)

Education

2001: Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of the Technical University of Crete.
Master's Thesis title: "Designing an Information System to Support Virtual Communities of Users"

2001: Master's degree in Operations Research from the Production Engineering and Management Department of the Technical University of Crete.
