Project Description

ARCHIMED is an R&D project. It is a part of the European Community programme Telematics. The research activities in the project are oriented towards development and experimentation of distributed teaching and learning telematic facilities for collaboration between educational institutions. This will allow them to share teachers and students as well as resources (courses, laboratories etc.) and to apply common solutions for content-independent generic distributed learning services. The problems will be attacked by analysis, development and adaptation of modern multimedia-system architectures for educational applications. The basic objectives of the research are:

• Development of advanced architectures for applying multimedia technologies for telematics.
• Training of Hungarian and Bulgarian specialists from the academic circles and industry for use of multimedia applications in specific fields and especially in Internet environment.
• Using Multimedia kits, authoring systems for development of multimedia applications for the needs of academic research, university education and vocational in-company training.
• Development of pilot multimedia systems for educational telematics of special interest for CCE partners.
